Autumn

It's cold today in Albuquerque. I'm talking low 50's this morning. Sweater worthy cold. I don't think it got this cold last year until Thanksgiving. I like the cooler weather. I sleep better at night when I am under the covers. I look better in sweaters. (or I used to, before I had a protruding tummy). I am glad I wasn't THAT pregnant in the summer, because it gets HOT here.
I can't wait for the International Balloon Fiesta in a couple of weeks. Drinking hot chocolate while watching the balloons has always been a favorite fall activity of mine. I really like the balloon glow in the evening too. There is something magical about standing in a field filled with giant glowing balloons! Balloon fiesta time is also a big time for tourists in Albuquerque. We see people from every corner of the globe, and its fun to watch them buy into all of the local stereotypes. They all HAVE to try green chile, and they all have to buy some turquoise and silver jewelry. It's good for the economy too!
